Chief Operating Officer Jeff Walters brings a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors.

He has successfully led teams on projects ranging from single-family residences to large-scale commercial developments, working closely with designers, architects, builders, and homeowners. Jeff's unique ability to balance aesthetic appeal with budget compliance ensures seamless client engagement throughout the construction process.

Jeff and his wife Jenine, both Montana natives, are dedicated supporters of the Billings community. He has a longstanding commitment to local service, having served as a board member of the Billings Chamber of Commerce for many years. Currently, he serves on the board of Tumbleweed, a local organization dedicated to assisting homeless and disadvantaged youth.

What areas do you service?

Big Sky Doors currently serves clients across central and eastern Montana, northern Wyoming, and the western Dakotas.

Do you have doors in stock? How long do orders take?

Big Sky Doors’ warehouse in Billings, MT, maintains an inventory of approximately 350 doors along with thousands of linear feet of millwork, including jambs, casings, and baseboards. While we offer a wide variety of designs and wood species, and can customize doors to any size, it's impossible to stock everything. Custom and special orders typically take four to six weeks to produce, depending on the complexity and design. Contact us today, and we’ll do our absolute best to meet your needs.

What comes in a door package?

Our standard new construction door package typically includes the door slab, door jamb with door stops, and hinges. We deliver these items in a “knocked down” (KD) package, meaning the door jamb is cut and mortised but not preassembled, and the door is not pre-hung. This approach prevents damage during delivery and protects the finish, while also allowing builders to achieve a more precise installation. Unlike mass-produced, pre-hung doors from big box stores, our approach ensures better quality and craftsmanship.

Can I work with you directly or do I   need to go through a contractor?

At Big Sky Doors, we welcome the opportunity to work directly with homeowners, whether you’re remodeling and need just a few new doors or taking on a large-scale project. We also collaborate with homeowners and their builders to design custom solutions, ensuring every door and trim detail is unique and special.

Do you have both interior and exterior doors?

Yes, while we specialize in custom interior solutions, we also have access to a variety of exterior door suppliers to meet your needs.

Do you have a showroom where I can   come in and look at your doors?

Yes, Big Sky Doors has showrooms in Billings, MT, and Sheridan, WY. Please contact us for an appointment to visit one of our showrooms, where you can view examples of our in-stock inventory, including both unfinished and finished doors.

Do you also sell trim to match my   doors?

Absolutely! We offer a wide range of stock trim styles in alder, our most popular wood species, and can match trim to any door and species you choose. If you’re looking to create a unique look with painted trim and stained doors, we can help with that too!

Can I purchase my doors prefinished?

Yes, we offer prefinished doors and trim in both painted and stained options, so your door and trim package arrives ready for installation. We collaborate closely with your design build team to select the perfect paint and stain colors and finishes to match your project’s needs.
